Keio University, in collaboration with NEC and Epi-Photonics, is conducting research and development on a method to control the actual network based on theoretical calculations on a digital twin. Anticipating the IOWN and APN era, where the number of wavelengths will be significantly increased, leading to an era of one wavelength per person. Specifically, when the wavelength band is expanded to the C+L band, the nonlinearity that occurs when the utilization rate, position, spacing, and distance of the wavelengths used interact in a complex way between wavelength bands, causing signal degradation, is theoretically calculated on a digital twin, and an automatically equalizing system is applied using a newly developed adaptive WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch). At iPOP, we will demonstrate and exhibit these results at our booth.
